Developed by Coach Debora Esajian, InnerMastery Coaching Model is a simple, yet systematic and powerful approach to gaining clarity of one’s values, gifts, goals, visions as well as liabilities, while creating forward movement and development through consistent and planned action.
InnerMastery Coaching Model has 6 phases, which can be applied towards any area of interest:
- personal growth
- relationships
- career
- health
- business.
It’s important to point out that a number of phases may be covered within one session depending on the issue in question; at other times, focusing on one particular phase for a number of sessions may be more suitable.
This process flow is client-centric, being dictated by his/her needs and wishes.
The 6 phases are as follows:
1. Clarify and Envision
The first phase in the process will involve getting a clear picture of the client’s goals and visions, while exploring his/her values, natural gifts, and purpose.
Within this first phase, we’ll also look into the future and envision the ideal destination, where the client wishes to arrive in his/her journey; this is where all possibility and details come in to create a more concrete direction.
2. Break it down/Strategize
Once we have the concrete direction, the next phase is to back up to where the client is right now (or current position), and analyze the gap between now to the vision or goal. We’ll then break down this gap into stages, or areas to be worked on, so that the process becomes more manageable and less overwhelming. Next, we’ll break down each area further and identify specific steps to be taken for each area as well as set deadlines for each step.
Here’s a visual of this process:
3. Let go of what no longer serves you well
In this phase, we’ll work to identify any beliefs or behaviors that are getting in the client’s way to achieving his/her goals and visions.
We’ll look into gaining a better understanding around what’s keeping these in place while introducing practices or strategies to let go of any self-defeating patterns.
4. Action out of awareness/Go for it!
Now that there is a plan in place, GO FOR IT!
Action is empowering and a major factor in progress and change, so taking consistent action will be key in this process.
5. Acknowledge victories
All work and no fun eventually wears out anyone, so it’s important to set milestones along the way to acknowledge victories, even the ones that may be seemingly small.
Options here may include coming up with a reward system or any other way to celebrate progress, whether big or small.
6. Evaluate/restart
A client’s journey is an evolving and dynamic entity. As we move forward in the coaching relationship, it’s important to evaluate the following:
- Where is the client now?
- What has been accomplished?
- Is the client still on-course to what he/she wants to be/do?
- Are there any adjustments that can be made?
- What’s next?
